AHHHlevel 2bowlingbean7 points·10 hours ago

Agh that’s annoying. I’ve had luck sticking a sign on my door that says “Due to the ongoing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and social distancing recommendations we request all packages be left by the door. We authorize release of all packages requiring a signature.” Followed by the names of everyone in our family. USPS left a package from Korea that would normally require a signature by our door!level 2byTheBreezeRafa1 point·8 hours ago

Enough funny stuff. Hope it gets better for ya, boo. My anxiety disorder is already so bad, and to share a personal fact, I’m also bipolar. My sleep schedule is integral to my health and wellbeing.

This all is causing such intense sadness AND boredom. Dangerous combo. I’m trying to focus on the “After” and preparing myself for a (hopefully) life changing career change.

Just had a similar convo with my dermatologist. If the weather is changing where you live and it’s getting warmer, maybe it’s time to alter your routine a bit for products with less oil. For ex. I had to take out the cleansing oil and just double cleanse with a gentle cleanser. Also using the lotion & moisturizer twice a day might be too much. I’ve also switched to a lighter gel moisturizer that I use in the summer.level 1EldradMustLive2146 points·18 hours ago

I HATE WEARING SUNSCREEN SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FEEL DISGUSTING AND OILY AF AND MY EYES BURN LIKE HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!level 2Chremebomb8 points·11 hours ago

You dont have the right sun screen!! I totally feel you! I LOATHED sun screen before I found the rohto skin aqua spf, which is just amazing. I have oily and sensitive skin too and all sunscreens either burned like you said or they made my skin look awful and left a white cast. Skin aqua spf is a game changer for me, total hands down. Like. I dont do a single day without SPF anymore thanks to it. It looks greasy and heavy at the start but after a min or so it sinks RIGHT in and u dont notice it at all anymore. NO white cast whatsoever. No worse oiliness, and i find it actually mattifies my cheek area somewhat. Forehead less so but then it’s like I dont wear spf when I use it, as in it’s not noticeable. Leaves behind the slightest satiny feel.

So I’ve been watching a LOT more youtube than usual (thanks quarantine) and I was wondering, if your entire skincare and/or makeup collection was destroyed, what would you repurchase first? I’ll share my own answers, but I think this is a really interesting look at what products are actually integral to our routines 🙂

Background info for my skin/preferences!

  • I have combo/leaning dry skin, prone to hormonal acne but nothing really serious
  • My skin is not particularly sensitive, so I don’t avoid fragrance like the plague
  • I switch between living in a dry and humid climate (fam lives in asia, I go to school in the states)
  • I have extremely fair skin

skincare!

  • Cleanser(s): COSRX Good Morning Gel Cleanser and Kose Speedy Oil Cleanser
    • I’ve been using both of these for the last year, and I have to say! I love them both so much, the Kose oil cleanser is so effective at dissolving makeup without making my skin filmy after, and the cosrx cleanser is just perfect. It’s a basic, no frills face wash for a good price.
  • Toner: Kiku-Masamune High Moist Sake Lotion
    • I picked this up last year in Japan and I love it. First of all, the big bottle lasted me 10 months of daily use for about 110 Yen (about 10 bucks USD), and I’m a broke uni student. Second, it’s hydrating and fantastic! The smell doesn’t really bother me, and I’m partial to hello kitty packaging 🙂
  • Serum: NON AB
    • it’s the drunk elephant glycolic night serum, if you care for my opinion on it feel free to PM! But I’m keeping this for AB only
  • Moisturizer: Innisfree Green Tea Seed Cream
    • MY HOLY GRAIL MOISTURIZER! I use the “deep” version in winter, and the normal in all other seasons. It smells amazing, it is fragranced if that is an issue for you but it is not for me, hydrates my skin perfectly. Not too much, not too little, it’s my goldilocks. I’ve tried other moisturizers, and some are good! But I’ll always come back to this one
  • Sunscreen: Etude House Sunprise
    • I got this for 4000 won (about 3.70 USD) and it is the first sunscreen I’ve used that doesn’t irritate my skin, leave a dreadful white cast, AND sit pretty under my makeup. It’s cheap, does the job, and sure I’d be open to trying other sunscreens, but this is the one that I know is a safe bet.
  • Bonus! Masks: Etude House Brand Sheet Masks and Innisfree Pore Tightening Volcanic Clay
    • I was so surprised to find that these blow some of the other sheet masks I’ve used out of the water! They are so hydrating and fit my face very well, not to mention they are pretty cheap too 🙂
    • This mask, amazing, literally better than the more expensive (non ab) glam glow mudmask. It is cooling, it calms my skin down when it’s acting a little more oily, and makes me feel so smooth.

Makeup!

  • Primer: VDL Lumilayer Base
    • This is my favourite primer of all time! It makes you have glass skin without the work!!!! It’s not very pore-filling or hydrating but thats fine by me. I wear a very hydrating moisturizer and sunscreen under my makeup, and don’t struggle with texture issues. This is exactly what I need, not to mention it’s not a horrible price compared to some other primers on the market (I paid about 16 bucks for it on yesstyle), and I love the packaging.
  • Foundation: Laniege Hydro-raidence Cushion
    • I don’t know if this has been discontinued because I got it at sephora for Christmas in 2018, but I love it. It’s a perfect dewy, light/medium coverage foundation that makes you look hydrated and healthy. It’s expensive yes, but it came with two refills and it is still going strong. I had to put in a new refill about 10 months in of consistent, daily use.
  • Concealer: NON AB
    • It’s a glossier product! Again, if you are interested in my thoughts PM me 🙂
  • Brows
    • also glossier product, PM me for details.
  • Eye products: 3CE Overtake Palette, Missha Trio in Lady Milk Tea, and the Shishedo Cream Shadow in PK214
    • I am cheating so bad on this one, but look, I have to have one from each category. The 3CE eyeshadow palette is amazing, I know a lot of people find it overhyped. But for me, it is my dream palette. The colours make my green eyes pop so beautifully, the mattes blend so easy, the shimmers are gorgeous. There is a great colour to highlight my inner corner/brow bone, a dark brown to use as a liner, a great crease shade, and all the fun lid shades that are still wearable that I could dream of. Sure, it’s not the most versatile palette, you’re going to get a soft, neutral eye look pretty much every time. But I do not care. I love it.
    • The Missha Trio is amazing, it’s a eyeshadow about as big as a 500 Yen coin with three brown matte shades. Sounds boring as sin right? Correct, but it is essential to my collection. I pop this in my crease, use the darkest shade as a liner, and pop on a shimmery single? Eye look in less than 3 minutes. It’s cheap, easy to travel with, and just darn useful
    • The shishedo shadow. God. I love it so much. I love a good cream shadow, but this one actually stays on all day unlike a lot of others. It’s the perfect shade of pink that makes it look like theres just a wash of beautiful shimmer on the lid, but only when it catches the light. It doesn’t look too crazy, and it’s such a simple, easy look when I just need to get out the door to work.
  • Blush: Canmake Cream Cheek in the pink and red shades
    • I would need both shades because I have been wearing them, no joke, everyday since I got them last summer, and I have only just hit pan on them YESTERDAY. The formula is different between the pink and the red shades, the red is much more of a sheer, gel texture because it is such a striking colour, but it can be built up. But it is the most natural, flattering blush that really makes it look like blood is rushing to your cheeks! The pink shade is perfect for my skintone to get that “English Rose” flush that makes me feel like Kiera Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet running through a field of flowers. The texture of the pink shade is more creamy, and much more pigmented. By far the best thing I have tried from canmake, and the present I am bringing home to most of my friends this year.
  • Highlighter: NON AB
    • It’s a colourpop product! PM for details
  • Powder: N/A
    • I actually could use some power recs, drop them if you have any~
  • Mascara: Etude House Lash Perm in Brown
    • Is this, the worst mascara to ever get off? Yes. It literally stayed on through a SWIM PRACTICE. But that also means it stays on in humid weather, which is a must for me. It holds a curl beautifully, and the brown is not as harsh as a black mascara. It also lasted through a 45 minute cry session in a bathroom once. Shoutout to my emotional dysfunction for THAT fun test.
  • Lips: VT BT21 Lipstick in the shooky colour
    • Look, I am a BTS fan and yes I bought this because I am a sucker. But it is GENUINELY my perfect nude lip shade. It’s rosy enough to again, help me with the whole Kiera Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet vibe, but also with the perfect hints of brown. It’s my natural lip colour, just turned up a few notches. I unfortunately lost it, so as soon as this whole quarantine is over, you bet I will be taking the train into Tokyo, pulling up at the VT store, and paying too much for this lipstick because that is how much I love it.

That’s it for me! Share your picks down below!!!!! I’d love to see what you guys would repurchase too 🙂

46 CommentsShareSaveHideReport23Posted byu/edenharmony3 days agoDiscussionHand Skincare, AB style, for Covid 19?

Hey all! Wanted to ask if there was any of you going above and beyond the normal hand cream after washing hands deal. Since we’re all washing our hands so much, so long, and in warm water, I find that hand cream isn’t cutting it anymore.

I’ve been thinking about layering some watery toners on my hands first before using hand cream, kind of like AB style but for the hands. Have any of you done this before? And what ingredients/textures do you look out for? For example, should I look for barrier strengthening ingredients (but the texture may be too greasy) or moisturizing, or softening (mild exfoliating even??) ingredients?

I’m thinking a watery layer may help since there is water being lost in the frequent hand washing process, the texture is just kind of weird. Usually the tops of my fingers are dry vs my palms, so I’ve been focusing on putting the cream on my fingers instead of intuitively putting it between my palms. Any other tips for application?

Hope everyone is staying healthy ❤43 CommentsShareSaveHideReport23Posted byu/DatnewKid223 days agoBeauty[Beauty] Are there any facial cleanser that doesnt use coconut oil/derivatives?

Here is a review of my sunscreens! For reference I have normal-dry skin, rosacea and some acne scarring on my chin. My skin tone is about MAC NC15-25 depending on the time of year. All sunscreens were purchased on either Amazon or YesStyle.

Nivea Sun Super Water Gel SPF 50 PA+++ – This is my favorite sunscreen! Firstly, I love that it is 140g, is in a pump bottle and that the pump has a cap lol. The texture of this is very lightweight and absorbs fast. There isn’t a white cast, tacky feeling, shiny finish, etc… The finish isn’t matte either, just very natural looking. It wears well under makeup and doesn’t pill.

Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel SPF 50+ PA++++ – This one is pretty similar to the Nivea Sun Super Water Gel. The Nivea is SPF50 PA+++ and 140g, while the Skin Aqua is 110g. Both have the very lightweight gel texture that absorbs very quickly. Neither leave a white cast, a tacky feeling or a shiny look. Both wear well under makeup as well. If you have one you probably don’t need the other.

Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk SPF 50+ PA++++ – This one is very watery/milky. I think it dries down even quicker than the 2 sunscreens I mentioned above. No white cast or shiny finish. It has a slightly matte finish, but not in a bad way. This one wears really well under makeup too. I only wish it came in a bigger size, I think it only comes in the 40ml bottle.

Skin Aqua Tone Up Essence SPF 50+ PA++++ – I have the green version. I believe there is a lavender one also. I was hoping this would help correct redness, but it doesn’t do anything for that lol. Out of my sunscreens this one is the thickest. It’s not really thick though, it’s just more of a light cream rather than a gel or milk. This one also takes more time to rub in. It looks whitish-green until it’s rubbed it and absorbed. I feel like this one would leave a white cast on someone with medium-deep skin. This sunscreen also feels tacky for a little while after applying. I haven’t worn it with makeup so I’m not sure how well it wears. This comes in an 80g tube. This one is my least favorite, so I will use it up but not repurchase. Edit: another redditor has the lavender version and says it does not wear well with makeup!level 2buttermelonMilkjam34 points·5 days ago

i LOVE & live by the 3rd one, SuperMoistureMilk. Esspecially great since white casts look extra obvious on my brown skin, so this heavyduty sunscreen is a mitacle worker.

but after reading your review, im excitedto try the 1st (water gel,) sunscreen too!

thanks for the post!level 3myg939 points·5 days ago

No problem! I hope you enjoy the sunscreen 😊level 2miserylovescomputers12 points·5 days ago

Great reviews! Of the ones you mention I’ve only tried the Nivea, and it’s so good that I’ve never bothered to keep experimenting. The Super Milk sounds great though, I may have to try it out one of these days.level 3myg936 points·5 days ago

The Super Milk is my second favorite! If you try it out, I hope you enjoy it 😊level 2panda_burrr5 points·5 days ago

Thank you for taking the time to review! I’ve also tried the Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture milk and I really like it, but I’m sad that it only comes in the small container and for what is, it’s quite expensive!level 2myfirstloveisfoodNC20|Acne/Pigmentation|Combo|US9 points·5 days ago

I have the lavender version of the tone up essence. It does NOT wear well with makeup. Tried 2 foundations with it, neither applies nicely on toplevel 3myg933 points·5 days ago

Thanks for letting me know!level 3Sputnik_cat1 point·2 days ago

hullo i have the lavender version too…. i find that it makes a nice neutral base under my cushion, but then again im no beauty expert. can you explain why you felt your foundations didnt apply nicely on top? like, streaky? or what?level 2the_krusher3 points·5 days ago

Thanks for the reviews! Do the first two have alcohol?level 3myg935 points·5 days ago

They both have alcohol, however they do not feel drying to me and I have normal-dry skin. Honestly I didn’t realize they even had alcohol until I looked at the ingredients again lol. The Nivea on has ethanol (basically just alcohol) and the Skin Aqua one has alcohol.level 4the_krusher2 points·5 days ago

Gotcha – thanks!level 4aaroces1 point·5 days ago

Great review! Where do you buy your Nivea gel one? I’m in the US so looking for places to buy onlinelevel 5myg933 points·5 days ago

I buy mine from Amazon.level 2chocolatechoux4 points·5 days ago

Another lover of nivea! It’s my been go to for the last 2 years or so.

And I totally agree with the size thing. I also quite like the canmake mermaid skin except it comes in the smallest bottle imaginable.level 3keepxfood2 points·5 days ago

I just bought the canmake mermaid skin gel on sale and am both hoping to love it and hate it. I can easily buy it in store and the packaging is cute but at normal price, it’s quite a bit higher than what I’m used to paying for sunscreens. How does it wear on you?level 4chocolatechoux2 points·5 days ago

The texture is really soft and it sits really well under makeup. It doesn’t feel watery or oily. I don’t know how to describe it other than to say it’s a pretty neutral skin like feeling.level 5keepxfood1 point·4 days ago

Thanks! By the sounds of it I will probably like it. Will need to watch out for the sales (rare, unfortunately).level 2the_elves_sleep6 points·5 days ago

I have the lavender Skin Aqua and I have to agree, it doesn’t wear well and I won’t repurchase it. It’s my least favourite of all the sunscreens I’ve tried.level 3nnicolee3 points·5 days ago

I love the skin milk, but decided to try the lavender one as well. I was outdoors for about an hour after applying this (letting it sink in) and my face got sunburned. I won’t be repurchasing it either.level 2Cheesycatbiscuit3 points·5 days ago

I’d love to try supermilk but it’s expensive for the size… it’s $27 herelevel 2art_rn943 points·5 days ago

I used the second one for ages and I just found it so sticky and oily on my face and I have dry skin. I find it hard to find a 50 spf for my skin I either have a reaction or it’s just super oily so I stick to 30 spf and stay in the shade. But I might give the first one a go.level 3keepxfood3 points·5 days ago

Skin Aqua has another in the same range called UV Watery Gel. It’s also SPF 50 PA++++.The packaging is really similar to this one. The only difference is the name in tiny font, and not as oily. It’s also cheaper per gram, so it’s worth a try if you’re keen. I went through bottles of it before my skin decided to revolt against a whole bunch of sunscreens that used to work before.level 4art_rn941 point·4 days ago

Ooh okay I’ll have to have a look at that when it gets closer to summer here so I have a higher spf to wear. Thank you.level 3myg931 point·5 days ago

I’m surprised you find it oily and have dry skin! Are you applying it by itself or with other products underneath? I hope you have an spf that works well for you 😊level 4art_rn941 point·4 days ago

Yeah, well I used a water based moisturiser and let it soak in and that was all. Thank you.level 3psychostatic971 point·1 day ago

I have combination/oily skin and it was also really oily on my skin! I always had to blot my face with oil absorbing paper in the middle of the day whenever I used it.level 2jill8282 points·5 days ago

Is there much fragrance to any of them? I’m pretty sensitive to that. Thanks so much for all the info!level 3myg9310 points·5 days ago

Scent wise they are all fairly mild. Strong scents bother me and make me feel sick, but none are these are bothersome to me.

Ingredient wise, it seems like the Skin Aqua Tone Up Essence is the only one with perfume/fragrance, but I could be overlooking something. Here are the full ingredient lists for the products.

Nivea Sun Super Water Gel: Water, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Dilauramidoglutamide Lysine, Pyrus Cydonia Seed Extract, Geranium Robertianum Extract, Phellodendron Amurense Bark Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hydroxide, BHT, Methylparaben

Holy moly! Thanks for all the effort and time!level 250sweet25ice2 points·5 days ago

this is the review i never thought i neededlevel 2vivalafloraaa3 points·5 days ago

Yea I have the last one, the Skin Aqua tone up essence in lavender. It’s a little weird on me, my skin has been really dry so when I wear the sunscreen (I don’t wear makeup) but my face pills soooo bad! Now that I I have better moisturizer, it’s now looking amazing on my skin!! But yea I do agree, I don’t think I’ll repurchase but it has definitely been my Pandora’s box into Asian sunscreens 😂level 3springtae2 points·5 days ago

I’ve been looking at the lavender and was wondering whether there actually is a tone up effect? I was hoping to use it (without makeup) since white cast actually looks good on my skin.level 4vivalafloraaa3 points·5 days ago

So many grammar mistakes my bad lol but I honestly do love it on my skin by itself! When my skin is super hydrated and moisturized there is a noticeable difference in my redness and overall skin tone. A little less red, and definitely more glowy. There is a little white but it’s not that noticeable and goes away pretty quickly. And also the smell is so freaking amazing, it smells like a really expensive flower lol but it doesn’t irritate my skin, hopefully your not too sensitive to fragrance! I don’t think fragrance is huge in this sunscreen but like I said there is a noticeable scent.

I would say try it! I bought mine off amazon and they have a great return policy:) hopefully this helps!level 2lademp3 points·5 days ago

Commenting to agree with everyone saying the Tone Up Essence does NOT work well with makeup in fact it doesn’t even work well by itself, it will still pill/flake off. Terrible to try blending in, it just… doesn’t.

I have never thrown a sunscreen away but it may happen with this one and I literally have 20 sunscreens in my drawer right now. 😬🙈

Agree with your reviews of the other 3 except that for me the Skin Aqua moisture milk doesn’t dry down as quickly as the first two, and doesn’t dry matte. All are really great sunscreens!! I love the first two for body mostly bc my skin is drier and I just suspected they wouldn’t be great for face, but you have intrigued me to try them on my face.level 3myg931 point·5 days ago

I’m not a huge fan of the Tone Up Essence either. I think I’ll just use it on my body until it’s gone lol.

I didn’t really mean that the Skin Aqua one is matte, just that it is more matte than the other 2 on my skin. I guess it’s sort of a “natural” finish, not really matte or dewy.level 2turtlesintheseaN10|Acne/Redness|Dehydrated|JP1 point·5 days ago·edited 5 days ago

Do you have the 2019 or 2020bversion of the green SkinAqua? I have the 2019 and it pills under makeup, but apparently the new formula is supposed to be different.level 3myg932 points·5 days ago

2019. I bought it towards the end of last summer.level 2shakedsnir1 point·3 days ago

Which one would be best for dry skin?level 2atleastitried191 point·2 days ago

for me the Skin Aqua milk(golden bottle) was super shinylevel 1clickclacker32 points·5 days ago

This is the third time I’ve heard about the Nivea Super Water Gel this week. I’m convinced it’s going to be my next sunscreen purchase. Thank you for the review!level 2lynxpoint19 points·5 days ago

it’s so great, definitely one of my favorites. i just wish it was PA++++!level 3clickclacker10 points·5 days ago

I didn’t even notice until now. Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll be sure to use something else on super sunny days.level 3positivespadewonder4 points·5 days ago

Check out Nivea Sun Zero Feeling UV Lotion. It’s PA++++ and feels like nothing at all once it sinks in (at least on my body—haven’t tried it on my face).level 2meeksohmeeks6 points·5 days ago

I’ve bought the Nivea one twice, I also have normal to dry skin. It’s great!level 2NachoQueen184 points·5 days ago

It. Is. Amazing. Hands down the best sunscreen I’ve ever used and I use a lot having a ton of freckles and being pale.level 1yvonchy13 points·5 days ago

I love skin aqua gel sunscreen. I used it all of last summer and eventually I will repurchase.level 2myg934 points·5 days ago

It’s a great sunscreen! I’m not sure which bottle you have, but I just saw it also comes in a 140g pump bottle too. The tube is 110g.level 3yvonchy2 points·5 days ago

Yes! I think the pump bottle is a new design for more product. I’m likely not going to get the pump bottle though bc I always leave sunscreen in my bags so I can use them when I’m out and pump bottles aren’t that convenientlevel 1confusedfruitbat9 points·5 days ago

I just bought the nivea sunscreen based on your post the other day! Super excited, thanks for your review!level 2myg931 point·5 days ago

No problem! I hope you like it! 😊level 1Jayaang12 points·5 days ago

Not to be a bummer but gonna put this out there, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate also known as Octinoxate, is toxic to coral reefs and found in all four sunscreens.level 2whythefuckyoulying7 points·5 days ago

I never used to care about this. Until I went to swimming in one of the islands in Thailand that I realized the sunscreen we used probably caused the layer of film/oil in the water I saw around me. A little regretful but this has created an awareness in me now.level 2myg933 points·5 days ago

Oh wow I didn’t know that! Thank you for letting me know!level 2tiredfaces3 points·4 days ago

Can you recommend any suncreens that don’t have it?level 3Jayaang2 points·3 days ago

I use Nivea Sun Protect & Moisture Lotion SPF50 but all sunscreens that comply with the Hawaii Reef Bill are reef friendly, so you might find that helpful, also U.S. brand Badger sunscreens are reef-safe although they tend to leave white casts. To add to this search for good sunscreen, this is a really useful guide on what sunscreens meet their spf claims (for NZers or Auzzies sorry not sure if this is as useful to other countries) as I’ve read a few articles that revealed a lot of sunscreens don’t actually meet the spf they claim to: https://www.consumer.org.nz/articles/sunscreens/test-results#article-our-test Honesty, still haven’t found a great one so if anyone has recommendations, please let me know!level 1spacec0wgirl3 points·5 days ago

I love the Nivea sunscreen!level 1LilZebulon3 points·5 days ago

Does anyone knows how the skin aqua super moisture gel performs on oily/combo skin ? I like my sunscreens to look not greasy or too shiny, it doesn’t have to be matte (although matte is good).

I’d love to try the nivea one but i like my sunscreens to be PA++++ for better protection.level 2lucialorena26 points·5 days ago

It looked veeeery shiny on me, same as the Moisture Milk.level 3LilZebulon2 points·5 days ago

Ugh, finding a wearable sunscreen is so hard and my skin isn’t even that oily. I’ll go for more matte options next time i buy something because I feel like most sunscreens just don’t absorb into my skin

I’ve heard the moisture milk was matte so i’m surprisedlevel 4lucialorena25 points·5 days ago

To be fair, most sunscreens look shiny on me. The only one that has performed very well is the A’pieu Soo Boo Ji Sun Cotton spf. It has a satin finish and it controls my oils pretty well.level 5LilZebulon2 points·5 days ago

This one is on my list for the next time i buy sunscreens, I heard it has a great finish :)level 6lucialorena22 points·5 days ago

It does! It’s thicker than the other AB sunscreens I’ve tried but it doesn’t leave a cast on my medium skintone.level 4peas_and_love3 points·5 days ago

I have a very oily T-zone and Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence has worked well for me as for as not getting oily. I think the new formulation is sweat-resistant too. Inisfree’s No Sebum is suuuuuper matte but it also clings to your skin like nothing I’ve ever experienced before, not necessarily in a good way. It’s very hard to remove at the end of the day, but if you’re worried about it staying put this is a good choice. The one in the pink bottle is tinted, not sure about the others.level 5LilZebulon2 points·5 days ago

The biore one is on my list but i’ve heard it can look a bit too shiny, still it’s a HG for so many people so i have to try itlevel 6peas_and_love2 points·5 days ago

I haven’t tried the newest formulation yet so I’m not sure if there were any changes in that regard. Part of the appeal for me is you can get it in a decent sized bottle. I’m totally fed up with the tiny bottles istg!! Some days I’m tempted to just go grab a big stupid thing of Banana Boat because you can buy more than a teaspoon at once. But then, the grease :(level 1alrightyeahcool3 points·5 days ago

Are any of these waterproof?level 2TheFascination6 points·5 days ago·edited 5 days ago

Only the Super Moisture Milk as far as I’m aware.

EDIT: I did some digging on Ratzilla, and it’s a bit murkier than I thought.

The Super Moisture Gel and Tone Up Essence claim to be water resistant, but they’re not explicitly designed for sports and outdoors.

The Super Moisture Milk claims water resistance AND is made for outdoor activity. Not sure what the real difference is.

And I know for a fact the Nivea claims no water resistance.level 3Diabeticcow1 point·4 days ago

I use the new blue bottle version of the moisture milk…this thing is very hard to remove with cleanser so I assume that the waterproof isn’t too bad. When I splash face with water, you can see water bead off and the film intact.level 4TheFascination1 point·4 days ago

That’s been my experience too. It like how it really bonds with my skin to make a seal. I always use an oil cleanser to get it off.level 1mish3213 points·5 days ago

Hi! If you don’t mind, would you be able to provide the amazon links you used? I’m terrible at finding legitimate sellers 😆😭level 1ConstrictingJeans2 points·5 days ago

I have both skin aqua super moisture ones, and I’ve noticed the orange one makes my eyes sting more than the white one does. I apply in the morning and usually notice my eyes stinging in the afternoon. I think the orange one is supposed to be more waterproof, though.level 1OneWhoIsCuriouss2 points·5 days ago

Looovee the skin aqua gel. I was not living for its finish before, but I came to really love it now. Looks like my skin is so healthy, lmfaolevel 1Jeschalen2 points·5 days ago

Have you tried the Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel or Biore Watery Essence SPF? I was wondering if you had a preference compared to these products, if you have.level 2myg931 point·5 days ago

Sorry, I haven’t tried either of those yet!level 1missnorika2 points·5 days ago

Thank you 🙏🏻 very helpful! Gonna try the first one!level 2myg932 points·5 days ago

No problem! I hope you like it. 😊level 1Zorgsmom2 points·5 days ago

I’ve been using the Nivea one for years. Used it for my destination wedding in Mexico & didn’t burn at all.level 1lil_squib3 points·5 days ago

Hey just be aware that your super moisture milk may be expired, this is the old version. Newer version is in a blue bottle.level 2myg933 points·5 days ago

Do you know when the new version came out? I bought this one about 7-8 months ago. 😬level 3lil_squib1 point·5 days ago

2 years ago.level 3ramenhairwoes1 point·4 days ago

The new version came out really recently. 2020. Unopened, Japanese sunscreens generally last 3 yrs anyway.level 2su_anna2 points·5 days ago

Not op, but dokodemo still sells the super moisture milk in the gold packaging, and I also bought the gold packaging in japan recently. Also, there is a new skin aqua super moisture gel in 110g that got released early this year, not 100% sure if it’s the same product, but looks quite the same and also in the gold packaging.level 132D100lbs1 point·5 days ago

Have you tried Anessa Perfect UV Skincare Milk? I’m a dude, I get breakouts(1-2 spots) from that. I’ll try one of these, thanks for the review.level 2myg931 point·5 days ago

I love the Nivea one too 😍level 1celestrialcelery1 point·5 days ago

Do you ever get the feeling that they like “clog your pores?” Like after I put on a light bb cream, cream blush, or even like Rosehip oil on my face to rub around, the day after I sometimes get little bumpies where the oil is trapped. It almost seems like wit bb cream it’s worse because I feel like it isn’t all completely cleaned out even by a cleanser. I was to wear sunscreen atleast because of obvious reasons but I don’t want to compromise my skin… do you think these ones make you break out on your face? Has anyone had any trouble with them like that? Also if u like any Korean sunscreen!level 2myg933 points·5 days ago

I don’t feel like they are pore clogging. Everyone’s skin is different though, so you have feel that they are pore clogging. I also don’t have any issues with them breaking me out.

I have tried two Korean sunscreens so far. One was the Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk. I didn’t like that one much. It was drying for me and had a very matte finish. My skin would feel tight after applying. The other one I tried was the Heimish Artless Glow Bass. I tried it awhile ago and I don’t remember too much about the texture. I think it was a light cream? It did make my skin glowy but I hated that it had shimmer in it.level 3celestrialcelery1 point·4 days ago

Thanks for the reply! I’ve only felt this pore clogging way because I’ve never gotten a beautified sunscreen meant for your face. I have only used like American drugstore brands that I find super oily or bb cream w added spf. I think I will check out the heimish one because I do like a glowy look along with the ones u reviewed.level 1bahamalove1 point·5 days ago

I have both the Nivea and the Moisture Milk. I love both but I agree, the moisture milk is more matte. I use the nivea every day and the moisture milk if I’m going to be in the sun more than normal (the beach, exercise). I also love that both sunscreen never make you look oily. FWIW, I have dry/combo skin and live in a really humid place.level 1LilStabbyboo1 point·5 days ago

Thanks for this. You’ve reinforced that i made the right choice in ordering the Nivea. I hope it arrives soon because the weather is getting nice and there’s nothing to do lately but go for lonely walks outside.level 1ossietzkyy1 point·5 days ago

Anyone know how is Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk compared to the Biore bright milk the pink bottle?level 1menpri1 point·4 days ago

I love the Nivea one so much!!!!level 1apertle1 point·3 days ago

Great review! I’m currently using the Innisfree Daily UV protection cream mild (SPF 35) and am looking for alternatives.

My issue is I really dislike the sunscreen-y smell. Which out of all these products would you you say has the least sunscreen-y smell, or alternatively has some sort of fragrance to mask the smell of sunscreen? Do any of these products have a lower SPF version (SPF 15-35)?Subreddit Iconr/AsianBeautyA place to discuss beauty brands, cosmetics, and skincare from Asia.793k
